✍️ Centella asiatica, botanically known as gotu kola, has two main varieties: The Gas gotu kola (a larger variety) and the Vel gotu kola (a smaller variety), both of which share the same properties. It is called gotu kola because its leaves resemble a cup, which is what "kola" means in Sinhala. According to Ayurveda, the plant is also known as brahmi due to its brain-shaped leaves and is considered highly valuable for its benefits to brain health. Gotu kola grows well in countries such as Sri Lanka, Africa, and Madagascar.

✍️ In ancient China, gotu kola was used to treat respiratory infections like the common cold and was known as the "fountain of life," based on a legend of a herbalist who lived over 200 years by regularly consuming it.
